Living on the seacoast of Maine and New Hampshire, it is incredible the number of family farms we have available to feed whole foods. Listed below I have included all my favorites. Rest assured that I have vetted these places and not only is the food exceptional, but the people/families behind them are as well.
Beef, Turkey, Duck, Rabbit, Bison, Pork, and Marrow Bones for Bone Broths
About Us – Aldermere Farm - Beef
Located in Rockland, Maine on 136 acres of shore front property.
Please note that although they are pasture raised, hormone free and antibiotic free, they are GRAIN FINISHED! So, if you have a grain sensitive dog, this beef is not for you.
Hurd Farm LLC | Grass Fed Beef, Free Range Eggs & Naturally Fed Pork
Every week at the farmers market I absolutely love steve's big smile as I pick up my usuals for the week. They put so much love into their animals, and he did confirm they are grass finished, with a little grain only on occasion.
Check their website out or you can find him at the farmer's market on Sundays.
Lee is one of the kindest souls out there. I have personally been to her farm and it's such a heartwarming environment and space.
A few things I love from her farm:
Because my dogs cannot have chicken, I grab her duck eggs and whip up scrambled eggs for the dogs a few times a week.
I also pick up full rabbits from her that I turn into meals for the dogs.
Hackmatack Farm | Berwick, Maine
This is a little farm shop that provides pre-made pet food with organs, marrow bones, and steaks.
They also carry some goodies for the humans as well.
Please remember when purchasing pre- made bone broth, dogs cannot have onions and most human grade are made with that ingredient.
Raymonds Turkey Farm | Fresh turkey | 163 Hampstead Street, Methuen, MA 01844, USA
They offer turkey necks, heart, liver, and gizzards.
There is just too much to say about this place to fit in here. Definitely checkout their website for all their offerings.
I absolutely love their Stomach ease tea as well as their detox tea.
Meta Microgreens & Wheatgrass , GYO Kits
You really can't go wrong with his mixes.
My favorites are the Pea Shoots, Rainbow Mix which includes red cabbage you can use as a blood tonic (Blood Deficiencies) Lemongrass, and mixed greens.
I also get his Grow your own pet grass to help my dogs when they have digestive issues.
OH THE GOODIES THIS PLACE HAS!!!!
Fresh veggies, fruits, and pick your own blueberries. I'm lucky enough to have it right down the road from my house.
They have a variety of fish available each week at the farmers market or you can email them for inquiry.
Fish is a very important part of sourcing your omega 3's to balance your omega 6's.
